What job does the
Turbo Elbow do?
By including our Turbo Inlet Elbow pipe with our 1.0 TSI Intake system, the airflow of the entire induction system is maximised to get the very best out of the car's airflow potential.
The Turbo Elbow is the part that changes between the earlier and later cars. If you car is post 2019/2020 and WLTP-tested, your turbo elbow will come with the venturi valve included.
The high-flow Turbo 90 Inlet pipe is greatly enlarged compared with the original, with a smoothed internal bore
To fit the intake alone without this Turbo Inlet Elbow would waste a lot of your hard-gotten airflow gains
With this level of airflow, it's ready to support higher power outputs from our OEM+ Performance Software

How do I know
if my car is post-WLTP?
Dependant on your model and country, Volkswagen Group made changes to the 1.0 TSI engine to comply with the new emissions standards imposed by the WLTP testing regime from 2019/2020.
If you're not sure, it's easy to check.
Take a look under your bonnet. You are looking for the small pipe (circled in the image). If your car has this pipe, then your car is the later post-WLTP engine.
It's even easier to tell if you have an UP! GTI. The facelifted cars, from 2020 onwards all need the WLTP-modified RacingLine Turbo Elbow.
You can see from the outside. The later 'WLTP' tested cars have the new 'smooth' VW badge (right), the earlier cars have a '3D' badge (left).
What's the
post-WLTP difference?
The factory turbo inlet for the later 1.0 TSI cars incorporates a moulded-in one-way venturi valve to control airflow - which cannot be removed to reinstall into a high-flow turbo inlet like our RacingLine one.
The only way to resolve this engineering challenge has been for RacingLine to commission our own an all-new venturi valve. You'll get an instant engine light without it!
